Jornada 38: Valencia v Atlético de Madrid

Posted by atleti on May 17, 2008

#4 Atlético 64

#12 Valencia 46

Win, lose, or draw, we still play Champions football next season. Having said that, I do hope we end this season on a positive note with a victory against a Valencia side that has had a disastrous season.

Here’s our weak starting 11:

Abbiati; Seitaridis, Zé Castro, Eller, Valera; Raúl García, Cléber, Miguel, Simão; Mista & Forlán

SUBS: Leo Franco, Antonio López, Pernía, Luis García, Joshua, Agüero.

New face in the squad is JOSHUA, a canterano who will be playing in place of Maxi, who was given permission to go to Argentina.

INJURED:  Motta, Reyes, & Perea.

NOT CHOSEN AT ALL: Pablo & Falcon.

Again, let’s end this season on a positive note. If we don’t, it’s not the end of the world…we’re still playing in Champions League next season.

We’re still linked Oporto’s Lucho Gonzalez.

With Abbiati returning to Milan, we’re rumoured to be tracking Mallorca’s Moyà and Espanyol’s Kameni.

Meanwhile, CAMACHO is rumoured to be a target of Arsenal.

Anything missing?

There will be an 07/08 season written by Monday– the good, the bad, the ugly!

I would’ve liked to see Falcón. If Aguirre’s giving the reserve players a chance, why not the goalkeeper that hasn’t played at all?

I think you forgot that Perea is also on the bench. Feels a bit weird to have two leftbacks on the bank haha

  2. atleti said

Agreed! It doesn’t make sense to leave Falcon out of the list.

Own goal Seiteridis, upto that point hadn’t been playing too badly.

    Seita, own goal…

Our defence is playing crap, very lucky so far to be only losing 1-0.

Well, in other news, NUMANCIA will be playing in Liga next season.

Thank God, Abbiati is going home, he is useless, and that is putting it nicely.

I’m not surprised really. With a defence made of Eller, Ze Castro and Seitaridis, it’s not hard to score goals against us.

I thought Falcon was OK. Why not give him a chance in this game!! That’s one other thing that makes me hate Aguirre.

  9. atleti said

Thank goodness we won’t have several of these defenders next season.

  10. day1star said

Now it’s 2-0, i thought we’d recovered a bit, but, no another defensive error.

Abbiati palms the first shot straight into the path of Villa.

  12. This is not a football team, it is a real shame. They are walking around the field. 2-0 and it could be worse. We can be seriously punished with a big bascket of goals.

  13. I do not understand anything at all. Kun in, Simao out. And our ex-player Mista????

    Aguiiiiirrrreeeee, I am feed up!!!

  14. 3-0, Villa. This is a military march

  15. Mohammed said

haha great!! 3-0 Gol de Villa.

At least keep face, Aguirre. God damn it.

  16. Kun, Golazo!!!!

    Josha in, Raul out

    I hope he performs well.

Finished the season with ridicule at Mestalla, these substitutes are second division.

I added you to my blogroll, KIKOGOL!

  22. KiKoGoL said

Actually this team needs plenty of signings, but because in the Champions will not achieve anything.

So do you want to exchange links? I did not understand your answer.

I’m not sure why everyone is so upset, we sent out a b-side vs an a-side, it was a sure thing that we would lose this game. Aguero showed why he should have started this game, he makes a big difference upfront.

He añadido Miguel y tu a mi blog-roll en este momento.

So sad, Zaragoza are relegated! what a pity.

  33. Zaragoza this season has been unlucky. Supoussely, they bilt a team up to compete for a UCL qualification. Getting down has been a President´s dubtful merit of Zaragoza.

Aguirre has announced he is staying on for another year. He also says that the club has verbal agreements with two more players, and more information will be made available on Monday.
