Today’s Good News/ Bad News

Posted by atleti on April 21, 2008

I can’t even bring myself to discuss yesterday’s game. It’s like a bad taste that just won’t go away.

Anyway:

Good News: Ajax have confirmed our signing of Heitinga– 10 million euros.

Bad News: Simao‘s injury this past weekend might mean that he’ll be out for the rest of the season.

  1. There isn’t news that can animate to me in this moment. Greetings from Spain.

Raul Meireles is the new name in the tranfer list for next season. I think he’s alright, and we can get him with a reasonable price. Although Porto’s board is very greedy.

The word on the Atleti street is that we have captured the young sensation of Racing Club, Matias Sanchez. He’s 20 yrs old and he plays as an attacking midfielder. Any one with info or seen this kid, please share.

He played in the under 20 World cup with Aguero, he didn’t play from the start in all the matches, but with the squad that they had there was a lot of competition for places. When he came on he was pretty alright. But, i think Piatti of Estudiantes might be a better buy, he’s very very highly rated and only 18.

I hope we secure a Champions spot this season because we’re so close to doing so yet we continue with these uninspiring losses.

Liverpool FC are now being linked with a summer bid for Maxi, how would you feel about losing him given his form this season?

Would he like to join up with Mascherano at LFC?

Are there any players you would ocnsider in exchange? For example, John Arne Riise or Xabi Alonso?

Ajax fans have created a goodbye video of Heitinga, you can see it here:

You guys are lucky to get him he was our best player.

We’ll take care of him. Hopefully, he’ll continue with the good form.

On another subject, The club are thinking of renewing Motta’s contract. I don’t know if that’s good news or bad news.

Heitinga’s video gives me some hope for next year. What most impressed me was the fan adoration, and his passionate play.

Regarding Motta, if he can get healthy, it’s a good thing. However, the guy’s so injury-prone that I would be completely surprised to see him get through the year without another serious injury. Pitarch’s interview on as.com yesterday was revealing in that he blames a lot of the failures this year on Motta’s absence. After reading that interview, I’d bet anything that Motta’s back next year.

I think Pitarch should blame himself, after all he signed useless Santana and Eller and injury prone players.
Is there anyone that we haven’t been linked with as potential buys? We seemto be after evereyone.
