UEFA: FC Copenhagen v Atlético de Madrid

Posted by atleti on December 3, 2007

Reminder: The game is on 5-December at 20.45pm.

A victory in this game would seal our place in the last 32.

STARTING 11: Abbiati; Antonio López; Pablo; Eller, Pernia; Simão; Motta; Cleber; Luis; Agüero; Forlan.

SUBS: Falcón; Raúl García; Maxi; Reyes; Maniche; Mista; Perea

Leo Franco will be out for 3 weeks after pulling his right calf muscle yesterday. I don’t expect him to play until Liga returns in 2-January. Hopefully, Abbiati won’t get injured.

Group B————-Pld————Pts
Panathinaikos——– 2————- 6
Atlético————– 2————–4
København———–2————–3
Lokomotiv Moskva—3————–2
Aberdeen————-3————–1

Moving On…Copenhagen’s recent 5 results:
Midtjylland 2-2 Copenhagen (Superliga)
Nordsjaelland 1-1 Copenhagen (Superliga)
Copenhagen 1-1 OB (Superliga)
Locomotiv Moscow 0-1 Copenhagen (UEFA)
Copenhagen 1-1 Brondy (Superliga)

Info provided by the UEFA site:
“København have played four games against sides from Spain in UEFA club competition, drawing two and losing the other two. They are thus looking for a first win against a Primera División side as Atlético come calling.”

That’s it for now– I have to write a paper before the end of the day. Bleah!

    Interesting…
They can’t beat anyone in the Denmark’s league but won the only game we didn’t win…
    oO

    Go Atléti! =P

HAHA. That goal against Locomotiv was a penalty! A lot of draws domestically lately for them.

A draw would be an awful result on Wednesday. A win is a must!

I think Motta is still a doubt after aggravating his knee yesterday during training. He was set to start…I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

    GOL 0-1 Simão

    Great goal!

Simao really needs to play more often.

    Agreed!

Be back- hopefully in time for the 2nd half.

SIMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AND AGUERO CONNECT, 1 0 ATLETI, and our defense is playing surprisingly well as well!

second solid game in a row, definitely not as entertaining as our 4-3 thrillers but if we continue playing this way, we will definitely be a force to be reckoned with

Great! I’m upset I missed nearly all of the 2nd half. Be back late, late tonight with a mini-review!

    Cheers all!

Good win, better defensively, but we back pass the ball too much and invite pressure on ourselves, we must pass the ball better and stop losing possession. Great game for Aguero an assist and a great goal and beautiful interplay between him and Simao.

The team is more balanced now. Hopefully, they will keep it like this. Simao was phenomenal.

Another great defensive performance by Motta. He is giving us the security we lacked previously in our back line.

Caught most of the game on Intergoles.com. It wasn’t perfect but it was better than live text.

I thought Abiatti had a good game. He came out to pick grapes once but otherwise, he was “secure” on the few chances he needed to be. L. Garcia didn’t show much during the action I saw and given how well Simao is now playing and Reyes lack of production, Aguirre now has his starting attacking midfielders with the Luso and Maxi. The defense had another good game, although Eller had that 1 stinker play in the box that his teamates saves his ass on.

I though Aguirre could have left Cleber to play the full 90 minutes rather than bringing him off in favor of another defensive midfielder (Maniche or R Garcia, can’t remember which; maybe he was tiring).

Motta looked good again getting a few nice shots on goal, laying in to opposing players on occasion plus he adds some “swagger”/Brazilian touch to our midfield.

Although Forlan was quiet today, he created some very nice space for Aguero to do his magic as he drew defenders away from the play several times when making runs.

Let’s thump the Greeks at the Calderon to take 1st place in Group B….joder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leivinha, livefooty had a pretty good feed of the game (coming directly from Denmark, I think). I’ve never heard of the site you mention, so I’m going to bookmark it. I have livefooty & Rojadirecta saved, too.

If we top the group, we avoid a Champions League loser.

Panathinaikos don’t play well away from home, so the odds are in our favour. Another must-win!!

I always download sopcast or tvants (i think that’s what it’s called) then go to myp2p.eu and find the game I wanna watch. I’m pretty sure that every time the games have been televised outside of the local madrid stations I’ve watched them. By the way, apparently atletico’s after van der vaart just like everyone else, talk about more opportunities for our attack, let’s see if it happens!

  17. atleti said

hahaha, you’re right. Who ISN’T linked with van der vaart?!

I always forget to check myp2p.eu for video feeds. Good reminder.
