Today’s Training Session; Good News

Posted by atleti on September 10, 2007

Today’s session, which was a little over an hour long, was geared toward preparing for this weekend’s away game against Real Murcia. There are two bits of positive news to report:

Injury Update News

1) 22 year old Right back/midfielder Juan Valera, for the first time since his knee injury 7 months ago, participated in a training session with the rest of the team. He isn’t match-fit yet, so I can’t imagine him figuring into manager Aguirre’s weekend plans. Maybe the following weekend when we play at home to Racing? Stay tuned.

2)Maxi is recuperating well from his own injury, which was also great to read. He kicked the ball around a bit. It’s still unclear on whether he’ll be fit enough to play this weekend, though.

In other Injury News
*Cleber continues to recuperate from his own injury– and will most likely stay in Madrid when the team travel to Murcia.

*Miguel de las Cuevas— talented central midfielder– unfortunately, is still on the physical therapy track. Poor guy has been incredibly unfortunate– top prospect at one point who suffered a horrific injury a little over a year ago and still not even remotely close to playing a professional game. I give him another month or two.
