Atlético Madrid Training Notes
Posted by atleti on July 23, 2007
Due to the 2-1 Intertoto loss against Gloria Bistrita, Diego Forlán’s holiday is shortened and he joined los rojiblancos in training today (Monday-23-July).
In terms of Aguero, unfortunately, due to the hole Atleti dug themselves into in Romania, the young Argentine striker could very well feature in Saturday’s home leg against Gloria Bistrita. This means only a few days for the youngster to rest from his time at the U-20 World Cup. Hopefully, he’ll have some time off eventually– I’d hate to see him over-worked– the season hasn’t even started yet! Los rojiblancos need him in tip-top shape, but also well-rested.
One of the ‘surprises’ of the training session (although he did not participate) was Juan Valera, 22 year old right-back/right-midfielder who suffered a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament in March ’07 against Deportivo la Coruna. He won’t be fully fit for a few more months, but at least it sounds as though he’s making progress in his recovery.
